Camila is a White House reporter for CNN. She combines her love of broadcast and print reporting to tell stories about what’s happening at the White House and how federal policies coming out of the executive branch are impacting people at the state and local levels.
When she is not in DC, she is often traveling across the country to report on political issues and key campaign races to watch.
Prior to CNN, she worked at The Washington Post where she covered national politics and Congress. Before The Post she was a political reporter for Business Insider where she reported on Congress, political campaigns and legal affairs since 2021.
At Insider, Camila was part of a team of journalists that produced “Conflicted Congress,” an investigative project that exposed how many members of Congress face possible conflicts of interest around their investments and stock trades. The series ultimately led to lawmakers introducing several pieces of legislation to ban individual stock trading and won a 2022 Sunshine Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
Before joining Insider, Camila was a homeland security and immigration reporter at CQ Roll Call.
Camila is also an adjunct professor at NYU where she teaches a graduate investigative journalism course.
